Our Specialised Services

Full Dentures

When there is a need to replace all the natural teeth, a set of complete or 'full' dentures are a great option to restore the edentulous condition.

Like with all our denture procedures, multiple impressions, measurements, checks, and adjustments are made typically over the course of 2-3 weeks in order to manufacture you your set of dentures that last you several years.

The process in non-invasive, and involves us recording impressions of your arches in order for us to begin the process of meticulously handcrafting the dentures initially from wax which we then process into the final high-impact acrylic that results in a functional and aesthetically pleasing solution restoring your ability to eat, talk, and smile with confidence.

Implant Retained Overdentures

In a similar fashion to complete dentures, Implant retianed overdentures restore the edentulous condition, however are supported not only by supportive arches but also engage over the implant abutments, and essentially grip onto the tops of the implants.

Implant supported over-dentures can offer improved retention and can often lead to improved results particularly with lower full dentures where the ridge has heavily resorbed.

They are removable, therefore very much like traditonal complete dentures, are designed to be removed from the mouth daily, cleaned, and ideally left out whilst sleeping.

The treatment process for the denture component is similar to that of traditonal dentures, however as we reinforce every implant supported overdenture we make with a metal framework, an additional week is typically needed.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures have been designed to fill spaces left by missing teeth. Consisting of a plate with one or more artificial teeth precisely mounted in place of the missing teeth.

Partial dentures attach to your existing teeth and rest on your gums. This ensures existing teeth are properly supported and do not shift into the empty space.

In addition, the frame of your partial denture can be made of either Metal, Acrylic, or Valplast flexible material.

When you come to see us, we’ll assess your situation, and discuss all the options available so you can be sure to make the best informed decision, and achieve the best outcome.

Denture Repairs

Throughout the life of your denture you'll need to have it relined, modifed, or repaired.

As the bone of the maxilla and mandible change following tooth extractions, the fitting surface of the denture over time will not feel as it once did.

The occlusal surfaces of the teeth wear down considerably as well.

These factors result in a decreased occlusal vertical dimension, resulting in a 'sucken facial appearance' aswell as an ill-fitting denture, which will often cause irritation to the gums due to the increase in movement and rubbing of the denture base on the supporting tissues.

In this case, a reline to your denture is carried out whereby the underside of your denutre is filled with new acrylic to fill the space between the fitting surface of your denutre and the supporting tissues.

This will typically result in the denture fitting like it did when it was first made.

In the case of a partial dentue, if and when another natural tooth is to be extracted, a tooth addition is carried out to your exisitng denture, whereby we add an artifical tooth to the denture to take the place of the natural tooth that has already been extracted, or is to be extracted.

A clasp or a 'retainer' will sometimes be added in combination to the tooth being added to improve the retention of the partial denture,

In the event that your denture breaks, we can repair it which we can usually do quite quickly so as to have you wearing your denture again with little down-time.

Sports Mouthguards

Essential for any sport where impacts are common, a mouthguard protects the teeth, jaw, and lips from damage. Custom-fitted mouthguards cushion the teeth from being dislocated, broken, or knocked against each other, while also lessening impacts which could damage the lower jaw.

Precise measurements of your teeth are recorded, creating a mouthguard sculpted for your dentition. Crafted with a reduced palatal aspect, our sports mouthguards provide enhanced comfort when breathing and talking. Each guard is laminated for added strength and durability.

Come and see us for your mouthguard needs to ensure your time on the mat, in the cage, or on the field remains free from expensive dental treatment due to tooth damage or loss.

Our 3 points of difference

1. Tailored Solutions

Our treatment process is adjusted accordingly to meet the unique requirments of each patient.

The way we acheive this is by ensuring from the initial consult that each record of the patients condition, oral anatomy, needs, and requiremnts are captured in our clinical appointments.

By establishing the most accurate and correct foundation for the patient, we can then begin fabricating whatever is needed knowing with full confidence that every detail is taken into consideration.

Ultimately this is what leads to our consisent superior results where our dentures work with your anatomy and mimic what nature intended you to have.

Your teeth are front of centre of everything you do, and are likened to the window of your soul. Compromisng the functionality and aesthetics of which, results in a variety of negative factors.

Correcting the edentulous condition with the use of removable prosthetics is one of the most direct and efficient methods for restoring your oral functional and aesthetic requirements and it is completely non-invasive, and needle free.

2. Denture Specialists

Be it a set of full dentures, implant-retained overdentures, or a metal, acrylic, Valplast flexible partial denture, or a denture repair, reline, or modification. Our years of experience across our team both in the clinic and in the dental laboratory enable us to achieve patient outcomes that are second to none.

Led by Bill Dimitriou the founder of X Dental Lab, and Halcyon Dental Denture Care Centres, he and his experienced team of Dental Prosthetists, Dental Technicians, and Dental Receptionists offer denture services across Sydney throughout our 3 clinics that are unmatched across Sydney.

Our ethos is quite simple "Provide the best level of care in order to acheive the best patient outcome - where quality is never compromised!"

3. In-house commercial  laboratory

All our work is manufactured by our experienced Dental Prosthetists, and Dental Technicians in our in-house commerical dental laboratory, X-Dental Lab.

This gives us the ability to control the whole process from clinic to laboratory, but also importantly it enables us to bridge the gap between knowledge from clinic to lab.

This ensures what we see in the clinic and what we make in the lab fit together the way they should.

Our no nonsense approach speaks for itself. We focus on consistantly producing quality results leading to the best patient outcome that gets tested in real-time against the harshest critic there is - Mother Nature, as ultimately what we make either works or it doesn't, it's very black and white... and we love it!
